In our new Foodie-rello’s blog series, we’re taking the opportunity to highlight some of our favorite local businesses, and introduce the Fiorello’s eatership to whom we consider the “Best of the Bay Area.” Living in such a culturally rich locale, with no shortage of fantastic fine dining and family-owned markets to source nutritious food, we think it’s only right.
Today, we’re highlighting Zanotto’s Markets, a high-quality, family owned and operated Bay Area grocery store chain.
Zanotto’s was founded 46 years ago by Rosa and Andrea Zanotto. After immigrating to the United States, they wanted to start a business to help feed and employ their 13 children. They also recognized a need for a high-quality local food store.
It was the era of TV dinners, and Rosa Zanotto wanted to cook tasty, healthy food for her family, and hence, Zanotto’s was born. Fast forward to today, their model is going strong — Zanotto’s is one of the Bay Area’s most cherished grocery outlets and has four locations throughout the San Jose/Sunnyvale communities.

Zanotto’s proudly carries a wide variety of local products, also boasting a specialty section of imported Italian foods. Their award winning meat, deli, and catering department never disappoints — their stores have a lovely di tavolo section where customers can pick up a panini for lunch and enjoy it with a cup of Fiorello’s Gelato! Their four locations are stocked with all your favorite flavors.
