Here at Fiorello’s, we’re all about community. In our new Foodie-rello’s blog series, we’re taking the opportunity to highlight some of our favorite local businesses, and introduce the Fiorello’s eatership to whom we consider the “Best of the Bay Area.” Living in such a culturally rich locale, with no shortage of fantastic fine dining and family-owned markets to source nutritious food, we think it’s only right. This week, we’re up in Santa Rosa, paying a visit to Miracle Plum.
Miracle Plum is a neighborhood market and natural wine bar, founded by Santa Rosa natives Sallie Miller and Gwen Gunheim. They specialize in unusual pantry items, responsibly grown staples from local farms, beautiful kitchen wares, cookbooks and food-centric magazines, grab-and-go lunches, natural wines, ciders, and craft beer.
Miracle Plum opened its doors in 2018. The shop is Sallie and Gwen’s “brainchild, passion project, dream job, and full time hangout.” Along with a highly proficient team of cooks, eaters, and wine stewards, they are reimagining kitchen culture and “business as usual,” to best offer a welcoming space, focusing on “delicious things made well.” (We can relate :))
Highlighting items made locally — and by women — are important to Sallie and Gwen.
“We love bringing something different to the town we grew up in,” say the pair of foodies. They and their team of 3 employees take pride in providing their community an opportunity to get curious about new culinary ideas, seasonal food, natural wine, and home cooking.
Miracle Plum carries only the finest foods, and naturally, also proudly carries Fiorello’s Artisan Gelato. Co-Founder Gwen says,
“Fiorello’s is simply the best, and we love the unique flavors. One summer I lived on balsamic caramel served with fresh chopped strawberries, and chocolate hazelnut straight from the pint!”
