Here at Fiorello’s, we’re all about community. In our new Foodie-rello’s blog series, we’re taking the opportunity to highlight some of our favorite local businesses, and introduce the Fiorello’s eatership to whom we consider the “Best of the Bay Area.” Living in such a culturally rich locale, with no shortage of fantastic fine dining and family-owned markets to source nutritious food, we think it’s only right.
Today we’re heading over to Vallejo to check out Anchor Pantry Gourmet Goods, a self-described “sweet and savory food boutique” specializing in delicious spices and chocolates.
Founded by Jessica Brooks in early 2021, Anchor Pantry filled what was then a gourmet food void in Vallejo. Her two degrees in culinary arts, and hospitality, respectively, made opening her brick and mortar store a natural choice, after past careers as both a chef and a retail manager. Now in business for over a year, it’s full steam ahead.
Inspired by the cultural diversity of the Bay Area (and all the amazing chefs here too), Jessica searches the world for spices, sauces, and unique ingredients to help make your meals wholesome, healthy and tasty.

In addition to the aforementioned, Anchor Pantry carries a wide variety of jams, coffee and tea, oils and vinegar, honey, artisan gifts, and delicious bread made fresh daily. Of course, no Bay Area gourmet food shop would be complete without a selection of Fiorello’s Gelato in the freezer!
When we asked why she chose to stock our Italian ice cream, she answered:
“I really appreciate Fiorello’s high quality and the fact that it is locally made, and their unique flavors. My favorite is Caramel Balsamic and a close second is Coconut Almond Chip.”
Anchor Pantry is run single-handedly by Jessica, with some help from her husband Frank from behind the scenes. As she works tirelessly sourcing selections from both afar, and right here in our local communities, Anchor Pantry is constantly adding new items to its shelves, delivering culturally authentic and delicious ingredients that reflect the diversity we’re so lucky to live among here in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Conveniently located in Vallejo, Anchor Pantry now allows the community to purchase their gourmet food items (like Fiorello’s Artisan Gelato) right in town, while in the past, they had to drive to Napa or Walnut Creek for similar pantry items. Anchor Pantry brings the best of the Bay Area — and the world — right to the community they thrive in.
